Original 1942 Dated 1942 Pattern Khaki Drill Trousers

SOLD

Code: 50960

An original pair of 1942 Pattern British Army Khaki Drill Trousers in a good wearable size and nice condition.

This pattern of trousers came into use with the British Army during the middle of the Second World War and are one of the more sought-after patterns today. They feature a First Field Dressing pocket to the right hip as well as a fly button front and brace buttons. All the buttons are stamped metal and original to the trousers.

The original manufacturers label is still present to the rear which is a nice feature as these are nearly always missing after 70+ years. It states the size as No.5, the manufacturer as ‘Gebr. Stroobant Turnhout’ and the date as 1946. The War Department broad arrow marking is also in evidence on the label.

When laid flat the trousers measure -

Waist - 15 1/2”
Inside leg - 30 1/2”
Rise - 15”
Rear rise - 16 1/4”
Cuff - 10”

The trousers are in good condition for their age as can be seen in the pictures. They have been worn and laundered but do not show signs of excessive wear or use and generally speaking present very well.

Altogether a nice pair of original Khaki Drill trousers in good condition. Examples with the original exterior label still present are hard to find today making these a good collectors piece.
