Original British Khaki Drill Shorts

SOLD

Code: 51077

An original pair of British made Khaki Drill shorts dating from the 1940s.

These shorts are typical of those worn during the 1940s and 1950s by both military personal and civilians. This type of shorts were popular with men in the summer but could also be a private purchase pair bought by an Officer for use in the Army, Air Force or Navy serving overseas.

The shorts feature a pleated front and slash pockets as well as waist adjusters to the sides - a typical period feature and complete with their original buckles. The rear of the shorts sports a single patch pocket.

Only one very small label is present inside which is white with the number 32 embroidered on it in red. This type of size label was commonly used in during this period and is an indicator as to the size of the shorts. The waist adjusters mean they can be pulled in to a smaller size of course but when laid flat they measure -

Waist - 15 3/4"
Rise - 12"
Rear rise - 14 1/2"

The shorts are in good condition for their age and still very wearable. There are some signs of wear and age as is to be expected from a vintage pre-owned item as well as some soiling to the rear. Please study the pictures as they form part of the description.

Altogether a good original pair of shorts in wearable condition!
