Original 1940s British Khaki Drill Trousers

SOLD

Code: 10637

An original pair of British Khaki Drill Trousers dating from around the Second World War and in good condition.

Based on the construction and buttons it is most likely that these trousers are of British manufacture rather than the more common theatre made examples often seen on the market. They are typical of wartime period trousers featuring a high-rise waist, wide leg, slash hip pockets and no rear pockets. As well as this they feature belt loops which is another typical period feature. They also feature the twin pleats to the rear which is another feature found on British made wartime KD items such as this.

Inside the trousers still retain their original label which is sadly washed out and no longer legible. This makes the trousers hard to date exactly but stamped brass buttons are a good indication to early manufacture, as is the cut. Some of the brass buttons features makers names to the rear.

The trousers are a larger size which will fit around a 34-35" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat they measure -

Waist - 18 1/4"
Rise - 15'
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 31"
Cuff - 10"

The trousers are in very good condition with no major signs of use or wear. There is only minor staining and overall they display very well. Please bear in mind that these are a vintage pair of pre worn trousers and may have small issues consummate with age.

All in all a nice pair of original British made KD trousers in a good wearable size. Ideal for the collector and re-enactor alike!
