Great War Era Brown Officers Ankle Boots

SOLD

Code: 50158

A truly stunning pair of of Great War period brown leather ankle boots as worn by officers with wool puttees.

The shape of these boots is typical of those worn during the Great War, the style changing noticeable by the 1920s. The shape of the toe and the lack of toe cap are the tell tale sign that these boots are First World War. Typically seen on officers riding boots of the period, ankle boots were also made in this shape.

These boots are unlined and feature 8 eyelets. The laces are also orignal period laces which are almost certainly orignal to the boots.

The soles are on good shape showing only limited wear and the toe plates are both intact.

The leather on the upper part of the boots is in great condition and is strong and supple and the stitching is strong too. These boots would hold up well if being worn.

All in all, a fantastic pair of early boots in great wearable condition which would suit the reenactor and collector alike.
