Scarce Early 20th Century British Officers Khaki Drill Trousers

£250.00 Approx $310.95, €292.06

Code: 10428

A rare pair of original British Officers Khaki Drill Trousers dating from the early part of the 20th Century.

These trousers appear to be theatre made judging by the hand stitched button holes and general construction. They are made from a khaki coloured sanforized cotton like most KD items from this period. They are cut in a typically Edwardian fashion with a narrow leg, high rise waist with flat front and fishtail rear. They feature straight slash pockets to eat side seam, belt loops and a button fly. There are also buttons fitted to the waist to support braces.

The rear of the trousers feature a cinch-back belt and buckle. The buckle is held on by a button and was designed to be removed when the trousers were laundered. It is 'Paris' and 'Solide' as the buckles often are. All the other buttons are present with some being period replacements.

The trousers have had the leg length altered and are currently at the longest, as can be seen in the pictures. When laid flat they measure -

Waist - 15 1/2"
Inside leg - 30"
Rise - 14 1/2"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Cuff - 8"

The trousers are in great condition especially when considering their age. They only have limited signs of wear and use and are still very sound and wearable. The display very well indeed but do study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-worn pair of vintage trousers and may have small issues commensurate with their age.

A scarce pair of early Khaki Drill trousers in excellent condition. These would make a great addition to any collection without a doubt.
