1951 Dated Beret, Working Dress Aircrews - Korean War era Fleet Air Arm Hat

A rare Korean War dated example of the 'Beret, Working Dress Aircrews' as worn by the Fleet Air Arm from 1945.
The beret is made from a dark blue wool and features a large crown typical of wartime and early post-war berets. To the front of the beret is a cut down 'HMS' tally which has been stitched on by hand.
Inside the beret is clearly marked as a large size 7 1/2 and bares the broad arrow mark, the date (1951) and the manufacturer 'Beret Industries LTD'.
An example of this pattern of beret can be found on page 122 of Martin J. Brayley's excellent book 'Royal Navy Uniforms 1930-1945.
