Original 1950 Dated RAF Physical Training Shorts

An original pair of RAF Shorts Gymnastic Blue, often referred to as P.T Shorts.
This pattern of shorts was used for many years in both the British Army and Royal Air Force and could easily pass as a WW2 pair. Made from a deep blue cotton, the short feature and elasticated waist and a short button fly which fastens with black horn buttons - the same style as found on War Service Dress.
Inside the shorts retain their original label which states the shorts as a size 3 which will fit around a 34" waist. The manufacturer is 'W.M McMullan & Sons, LTD' and the War Department Broad arrowing marking is also there as is the 1950 date.
Due to their elasticated waist the shorts will fit a number of waist sizes. When laid flat they measure 15" across the waist and when stretched to their full extent 20".
The shorts are in good condition with only limited signs of wear and use. They are still very wearable and display well.
