An original RAF 'Z' Type Harness made by GQ and dated 1972.
This harness came out in the 1950s and was designed as a multi purpose item that could be used in any aircraft. This is just the lap belt section but could be used with various other parts to create 4 different harness styles.
This example has issue stamps dating from 1972 although it could potentially be of earlier manufacture. It also bares the GQ stamps on each individual piece.
The overall condition is good but the metalwork does have some signs of surface corrosion but it looks as if it will clean up well.
