1948 Dated British Army Undershirt

An original 1948 dated British Army ‘Warnorm’ wool undershirt by ‘J. B. Lewis & Sons Ltd’.
This style of undershirt was used throughout the Second World War and weee almost certainly made by the same company during the conflict. It features a rounded neck and short sleeves.
Inside the neck the original label is present and still clean and bright. The War Department broad arrow mark is present along with the 1948 date, the manufactures name and the size which is 3 in this instance. The shirt actually measures at 19” under the arms which equates to a 38” chest. Due to the stretchy nature of the material it may well fit larger than this.
The condition of the shirt is good as can be seen in the pictures. It doesn’t show and signs of wear or samage but there is a small amount of staining but this is to be expected of a vintage item.
Overall a nice original WD undershirt which would be ideal for a reenactor or similar.
