Original 1953 Dated 1950 Pattern Khaki Drill Bush Jacket

SOLD

Code: 50930

An original 1950 Pattern British Khaki Drill Bush Jacket dated 1950 in good condition.

This pattern of tunic came int service during the immediate post-war years and bares many similarities with its wartime predecessor. It is made from a cellular cotton, often referred to as ‘Airtex’, and is cut in a classic bush jacket style. The jacket features epaulettes, pleated chest pockets and a buttoning cuff. All the buttons are green horn examples which are correct for the period.

Inside the jacket still retains its original issue label which states the manufacturer as ‘World’s Wear Ltd’, the manufacture year as 1953 and the size as No.5 which will fit someone of around 5’ 8” with a 35-37” chest and a 30-32” waist. The label also bares the War Department broad arrow marking.

As well as the original label the jacket also bares the War Department ink stamp which is surmounted by the letter ‘M’.

When laid flat the jacket measures -

Chest - 20 1/2”
Inside Arm - 15“
Outside Arm - 20“
Waist - 18”
Length - 27”
Shoulders - 16”

The condition of the jacket is good for its age and displays well. Please study the pictures as they form part of the description.

Altogether a nice original British Bush Jacket in good usable condition.
