Original 1950 Patten Khaki Drill Shorts

SOLD

Code: 51233

An original pair of British Military 1950 Pattern Khaki Drill shorts in good condition.

This pattern of shorts actually came into issue with the Royal Air Force at the end of the Second World War but the official pattern came into issue a couple of years later. They saw service for a number of years with the British Army and RAF. This style with the cross belt fastening is now often referred to as 'Gurkha Shorts'.

The shorts feature the cross belt closure and come complete with their original chrome plate buckles. These are removable for washing purposes and are often missing from shorts and trousers offered on the market today.

Inside the shorts the original size stamp of '3' is still present but the label has been removed. There is a clear outline of where the label was previously however which can be seen to the right of the size stamp.

Due to the style of waistband the shorts are slightly adjustable. When fastened they measure -

Waist - 15 1/2"
Rise - 14"
Rear rise - 15 1/2"

The shorts are in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. They have clearly been washed an laundered but don't show any real signs of undue wear. They have had a piece of material let into the waist to make them larger which appears to be an original period alteration. Please study the pictures as they form part of the description.

All in all a nice pair of original 1950 pattern shorts which would make a great addition to any summer wardrobe.
