Orignial 1968 Pattern DPM Combat Smock - Size 2

SOLD

Code: 10234

An original 1968 Pattern 'Smock Combat' dating from the 1970s and in good condition.

This pattern of smock was introduced in the 1960s and saw Service throughout the 1970s and into the 1980s. It is made from a tough, durable cotton which is screen printed with the DPM camouflage pattern. It features a period 'NZ' metal zipper to the front and four buttoning patch pockets to the front. The sleeves bare the insignia of the Royal Anglian Regiment and the 49th West Riding division and are original to the jacket.

Inside the jacket the original labels are both still present. The one to the neck bares the size of '2' and the manufacturers name which is 'Clayton St. Mill'. The original owner has marked his name in ink over the label which reads 'Denny HQ', so he clearly served in the Headquarters section. The second label is also present and bares various details relating to wear and care of the jacket.

The jacket is a small to medium size and is designed to be loose fitting and worn over other clothing. This should be taken into account with the following measurements. When laid flat it measures -

Chest - 23"
Inside arm - 22"
Outside arm - 23"
Shoulders - 21"
Length - 30"

The jacket is in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. Whilst it has clearly been issued and worn, it is still very wearable with no signs of excessive use or wear.

A nice original and fairly early example of a classic British Military jacket.
