Original 1950s British Made Khaki Drill Shorts

SOLD

Code: 10215

An original pair of British made Khaki Drill shorts dating from the 1950s and in good condition.

The construction of these shorts is typical of those dating from the 1940s and 1950s being made of a khaki coloured cotton drill and featuring a button fly and belt loops. As well as this they feature straight slash pocket to each hip but no label, although this pattern dates from after the Second World War.

Whilst many KD items offered on the market today are theatre made, this pair are clearly British made. The cotton drill and machine stitched button holes are typical of British manufacture as are the green horn buttons. These same buttons were used on British Battledress from 1943 onwards.

The shorts will fit someone of around a 28" waist depending on desired fit and when laid flat they measure -

Waist - 14 3/4"
Rise - 16"
Rear rise - 18"
Inside leg - 6 1/2"
Cuff - 13"

The shorts are in good condition for their age with only limited signs of wear and use. They are still very wearable and display well but please bear in mind that they are a pair of pre-owned vintage shorts which may have small issues consummate with their age.

A nice pair of post war British Army shorts in good condition.
