1952 Dated Civil Defence Battledress Blouse

SOLD

Code: 50314

A mint un-issued example of a 'Blouses Mens CD.20' dated 1952 and in a good wearable size.

This pattern of battledress first saw use with the Civil Defence and ARP in the early part of the Second World War and continued to see service well into the 1960s. This example is clearly dated 1952 but the pattern is un-changed from the war.

The original label is intact inside the jacket and in perfect condition, meaning that it is still clearly legible. It states the jacket as being a generous size which will fit up to a 41" chest and a 38" waist.

The lining inside is also in perfect condition and is still the deep indigo blue colour it was when it left the factory. The metal hook and eyes are also present in the collar and fasten together as they should.

The over condition of the jacket is nearly perfect as can be seen from the photographs. The jacket has clearly never been issued and has survived very well indeed.

All in all, and excellent example of a Civil Defence battledress blouse which would be ideal for a re-enactor or collector and would look excellent badge up as CD or ARP.
