Original WW2 ATS Denim Overalls

Original WW2 ATS Denim Overalls

Code: 55462

SOLD

An original Second World War Auxiliary Territorial Service combination suit dating from the Second World War.

This pattern of coveralls came into issue with the ATS in the early part of the Second World War and were officially designated 'A.T.S. Overalls Combination Denim'. Made from the same green denim material as the mens two piece denim battledress and tank suit; these overalls feature a patch pocket to the left breast, slash pockets to the hips and a mandarin collar - typical of overalls made in the first half of the 20th century. The front fastens with stamped brass buttons as are commonly seen on British military items of the period, with more fitted to the cuffs. To the rear of the overalls is a cinchback belt and buckle.

The original label is no longer present although there is clear evidence of where it was previously fitted. These are undoubtely an original period example. Due to the lack of label there is no size indicated but when laid flat they measure -

Chest - 18"
Waist - 15"
Inside arm - 14 1/2"
Outside arm - 20"
Inside leg - 26" (dropped crotch so will fit a long leg)
Shoulders - 15 1/2"

The coveralls are in very good condition as can be seen in the pictures and display well. They have clearly been laundered and worn but displasy well with no serious flaws or damage. They are still totally wearable but please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that they are a pre-worn, vintage item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

A really good set of early war ATS overalls. These would make a fine addition to any collection!
