Original WW2 US Army Second Pattern HBT Jacket

Original WW2 US Army Second Pattern HBT Jacket

Code: 54595

SOLD

An original WW2 United States Army Second Pattern Herringbone Twill jacket in used condition.

This pattern of jacket was introduced to replace the first pattern example and saw service throughout the rest of the war. The jacket is made from the herringbone twill material used for all US Army workwear during the Second World War and is fitted with metal 13 star buttons throughout. The jacket features large pockets to the chest which are the most obvious piece of design found on the second pattern jacket.

The original size tag is no longer present but it was most likely originally labelled as a 34R. It will easily fit a modern 38" chest and when laid flat the jacket measures -

Chest - 20"
Inside arm - 22"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 18"
Length - 28 1/2"

The jacket is in good condition with some signs of wear and use. It has faded and been washed out giving it a great used look and there are some period repairs and fraying to the cuffs. Please study the pictures carefully before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a pre-worn work jacket which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A good original WW2 fatigue jacket!
