Original WW2 US Army Second Pattern HBT Jacket - Size 36

Original WW2 US Army Second Pattern HBT Jacket - Size 36

Code: 53662

SOLD

An original WW2 United States Army Second Pattern Herringbone Twill jacket in used condition.

This pattern of jacket was introduced to replace the first pattern example and saw service throughout the rest of the war. It is made in the light shade herringbone twill material used by the US Army for workwear during the Second World War and it is fitted with metal 13 star buttons throughout. The jacket features large pockets to the chest which are the most obvious piece of design found on the second pattern jacket. The cuffs can be fastened around the wearer's wrists in two positions and two more 13 star buttons are located to the rear of the collar. There are shadows to both sleeves where rank badges have previously been fitted and another to the chest where a name tag has been fitted.

The original size tag is still present and reads '36R'. It will easily fit a modern 40" chest and possibly a 42" and when laid flat the jacket measures -

Chest - 23"
Inside arm - 22"
Outside arm - 23 1/2"
Shoulders - 19 1/2"
Length - 28"

The jacket is in good condition with some signs of wear and use. It has a few marks as shown but overall it displays well. The jacket is still very wearable but please study the pictures carefully before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a pre-worn vintage jacket which may have small flaws commensurate with age.

A good original WW2 fatigue jacket!
