An original WW2 US Army M41 Combat Jacket in good condition.
Officially designated 'O. D. Cotton Field Jacket M1941', this pattern of jacket saw widespread issue with many types of US Army and US Army Air Force personnel throughout the Second World War. The design is based on a civilian windbreaker style jacket and is made from a khaki coloured cotton poplin with a green wool lining. It retains its original 'Talon' branded zipper which works well and there is a button fly which fastens over this. Slash pockets are located to the front and the rear features a half belt and action back. Epaulettes are located at the shoulders and there are buttoning tabs to each cuff.
Inside the jacket the original hanging loop is still present and there is evidence of where a label was previously fitted below this. The original issue label is also still present inside one of the pockets although it is washed out leaving no details legible.
The jacket will suit around a 38" chest and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 22"
Inside arm - 20 1/4"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 18 1/2"
Length - 25 1/2"
The jacket is in good wearable condition with various signs of age and use. There is some damage to the lining and the cuffs are worn as is illustrated in the pictures. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage item with some flaws commensurate with age.
A nice original M41 jacket with its original zip.
