An original pair of US Army M1943 Trousers in good condition.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in the middle of the Second World War alongside the M1943 Combat Jacket. Officially designated 'Trousers, Field, Cotton OD', these trousers saw extensive issue with US units during the last two years of the war, especially in the ETO.
Made from an olive drab coloured cotton sateen and were designed to be worn over wool trousers. They feature a button fly, ankle tabs to the bottom of the leg and angled slash pockets to the hips. The rear of the trousers feature two welt pockets and belt loops are fitted around the waist. Waist adjusters are also present to each hip.
Inside the trousers the original size stamp is still present although hard to read. All the original labels are also present but have been washed out making them either hard to read or illegible.
The trousers will suit someone of around a 29" waist and when laid flat they measure -
Waist - 14 1/2"
Rise - 12 1/2"
Rear rise - 17 1/2"
Inside leg - 29"
Outside leg - 40"
Cuff - 9 3/4"
The trousers are in reasonably good condition and display fairly well. There are some signs of wear and use as can be seen in the pictures. There are some period repairs and various stains etc but the trousers are still very wearable. Please take time to study them and bear in mind that these are a vintage pair of pre-worn military trousers which may have small issues commensurate with age.
All in all a nice original pair of wartime US M43 combat trousers in wearable condition.
