A lovely original example of the classic USAAF A2 flying jacket in good original condition.
The jacket features its original 'Talon' Zipper which works perfectly, has the neck clasps at the top which are both still intact, and two pop studs underneath the collar which function perfectly.
The original liner is intact and in reasonable condition. It is worn in places as is to be expected with a jacket of this age. The original label is missing from inside sadly but there is the Army Navy stamp near to where the label was, as can be seen in the photographs. There is also a small label inside one of the front pockets with 36 printed onto it, obviously to indicate the size. I would suggest a fit of 34" Myself however, as it is a small jacket.
The leather outer is in good condition and responded very well to a coat of high quality leather feed. There are no serious rips, nicks or tears anywhere on the outer shell of the jacket. There are however a couple of spots of white paint present.
The cuffs and the waistband have certainly seen better days but I have left them be as they are original to the jacket. Replacements are easily sourced if the new owner so wished to have them replaced.
The two front pockets are also in good shape and the pop studs work on both.
All in all, a good example of one of the most iconic jackets of the 20th Century!
