A nice original United States Air Force Officers Summer Tunic dated 1954 complete with all of its original insignia.
The tunic features a good original 20th Air Force patch to the right hand sleeve which appears to have been on the jacket for a very long time. Above the right hand breast pocket is a nice original pin back Observer badge which again could well be original to the tunic. Captains bars can be found on each epaulette also.
Inside the tunic retains its original manufactures labels. The tunic was made by 'I. Goldberg' in Philadelphia and features a second label stating that the tunic is made to US military specification. Inside the inner pocket is another label which has the original owners name, James Ewing as well as the date of manufacture dating from 1954.
The overall condition of the tunic is fair and it displays nicely but there are however various signs of age and wear. There are some small holes to certain parts of the tunics as well as stains but nothing that detracts too much from the overall look of the tunic.
All in all a very original USAF tunic from the Korean War period which would make a nice addition to any aviation collection.
