A scarce original pair of first pattern M1942 United States Marine Corps Jungle Boots, often referred to as 'Jungle Boots'.

This pattern of boots was introduced on the 31st of August 1942 and saw issue with members of the USMC in the Pacific Campaign throughout the rest of the war. These are truly the first generation of jungle boots and are immediately identifiable.

The boots feature a green coloured duck cotton canvas top which fastens with laces. The tongue of the boot is stitched all the way to the top to stop water or debris getting inside the boots. The soles are rubber and there is a rubber galosh section which runs around the whole of the boot as well as a toe cap which is part of the same moulding. The laces appear to be the original issue examples.

The soles are marked with the size of 10 and should therefore fit as a US size ten.

The boots are in very good condition for their age and display well. The rubber parts are excellent including the galosh and toe caps which do not have any broken pieces or damage. There are areas where the glue has dried out leaving a gap between the canvas and the rubber which is evident in the pictures. There are also a couple of small defects to the inside of the right boot which are illustrated in picture 6. Please study the pictures before purchasing as these are a vintage pair of pre-owned boots which may have small issues commensurate with age .

A very nice pair of this rare and hard to find pattern of boot which in many ways would be very hard to better.
