An original 1942 Dated US Enlisted Men’s tunic with airborne insignia in a size 37R.
This tunic features a variety of insignia including 101st Airborne and 82nd Airborne which has been added to create an authentic looking tunic for a Private First Class who served in both units. Whisky I believe the majority of the badges to be reproductions great attention to detail has been taken when adding them. The stitching has been done in an authentic way even with the image of parachute lines between the airborne title and screaming eagles patch as was done at the time. Both sets of badges have also had dog tag chain added around the edges which is something else that was done at the time.
The tunic still retains its original label inside one of the pockets. It reads that the tunic was made on July 10th 1942 and is a size 37 regular.
The overall condition of the tunic is not the best and this is reflected in the price. Whilst it has a range of badges that make the jacket attractive there are areas of damage and some areas have been repaired. The worst of this is around the collar and can be seen in the photographs.
Altogether not the best condition tunic but one that displays nicely none the less.
