An original 1941 dated US Army Enlisted Men's Tunic in a size 37 Long which is in good condition.
This pattern of jacket was introduced in the early part of the Second World War and was worn throughout the conflict by all enlisted men. It is made from a khaki green coloured wool and features original US Army buttons throughout. A US Third Army patch is fitted to the top of the left sleeve and the interior features a partial lining.
Inside one of the pockets the original tag is still present and is still legible. It states the manufacturer as Barrister Clothing Co.' and the manufacture date as December 1941 is still mostly legible. The size is also marked as 37L. When laid flat the tunic measures -
Chest - 19 1/2"
Inside arm - 17"
Outside arm - 24"
Shoulders - 17 1/2"
Length - 30"
The overall condition of the tunic is good as can be seen in the pictures and it displays well. There is a small hole under each arm which is illustrated in the pictures but not noticeable when worn or displayed. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small flaws commensurate with age.
All in all a nice clean original early war example!
