An original pair of US Army M1943 Trousers in good condition and in a size 34x34.
This pattern of trousers was introduced in the middle of the Second World War alongside the M1943 Combat Jacket. Officially designated 'Trousers, Field, Cotton OD', these trousers saw extensive issue with US units during the last two years of the war, especially in the ETO.
Made from an olive drab coloured cotton sateen, these trousers were designed to be worn over wool trousers. They feature a button fly, ankle tabs to the bottom of the leg and angled slash pockets to the hips. The rear of the trousers features two welt pockets and belt loops are fitted around the waist. Waist adjusters are also present which can be fastened in two different positions with buttons.
Inside the trousers both the original labels are still present but are washed out leaving no details legible. The standard makers stamp is present to the interior as is the size stamp which reads 'Waist 34 Leg 34".
The trousers are a good tall size as stated on the labels. When laid flat they measure -
Waist - 17"
Rise - 13 1/4"
Rear rise - 18 1/2"
Inside leg - 33"
Outside leg - 46"
Cuff - 10"
The trousers are in good wearable condition and display well. There are some signs of wear and use as can be seen in the pictures. Please take time to study them and bear in mind that these are a vintage pair of pre-worn military trousers which may have small issues commensurate with age.
All in all a nice original pair of wartime US M43 combat pants in good wearable condition.
