An original WW2 Khaki Drill Tunic complete with RAF Sergeants Insignia.
This pattern of tunic was used throughout the Second World War by all airmen up to the rank of Flight Sergeant. It features RAF style scalloped pocket flaps to the chest, lower bellows pockets and no epaulettes as is correct for this rank.
The tunic is fitted with a set of brass Kings crown RAF buttons and features embroidered tropical pattern RAF albatross badges to the top of each sleeve as well as a single tropical Sergeants stripe. There is also evidence of where a wing has been removed from the chest.
The tunic is a larger size and should fit up to a 42" chest. It has had the pleats let out to allow for extra room and movement and when laid flat measures 23" pit to pit.
The jacket is in good condition for its age with plenty of signs of wear and use as is to be expected. There are no serious flaws that I can find and overall it displays well.
All in all a nice tunic in a harder to find larger size which would be ideal for a re-enactor.
