An original RAF Ordinary Airman's tunic dating from the end of the Second World War and in good condition.
This tunic is typical of those worn at the end of WW2 and features a set of insignia which is only seen during this period. The jacket itself is a standard issue example which has had the label removed making it impossible to date exactly although the insignia means this is not a problem. The single good conduct stripe fitted to the lower left sleeve and the nicely mounted medal ribbons are typical of jackets worn at the very end of the war. The semi embroidered insignia is also typical of mid - late war jackets.
The tunic will suit around a 34-35" chest and when laid flat measures -
Chest - 19"
Waist - 16"
Inside arm - 19"
Outside arm - 25 1/2"
Shoulders - 17"
Length - 30 1/2"
The jacket is in good condition with some signs of age and use. Overall it displays nicely and has no serious flaws but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
All in all a nice wartime RAF tunic which would make a good addition to any WW2 collection.
