Original WW2 RAF Officers Khaki Drill Shorts - V. C. Jordan

Original WW2 RAF Officers Khaki Drill Shorts - V. C. Jordan

Code: 52215

SOLD

An original pair of WW2 Drill Shorts named to Flying Officer V. C. Jordan.

These shorts appear to be theatre made examples as is extremely common to find with original Khaki Drill uniform items. Many officers bought their own uniform from local tailors and bizarres whilst stationed in the tropics leading to a wide variety of details and differences in pattern. As always, these shorts are made from a tan coloured cotton drill material. They feature a button fly and hand stitched buttonholes - a typical trait of theatre made items. They have a twin pleated front, slash pockets to each hip and a single rear pocket. Belt loops are fitted around the waist and simple waist adjusters are fitted to the rear.

Inside the shorts the original owner has added his name in ink which reads 'F/O V. C. Jordan'. The rank of Flying Officers means they belonged to an RAF officer. The name could potentially be researched in the future.

The shorts will suit someone of around a 28" waist and when laid flat measure -

Waist - 14 1/4"
Rise - 12"
Rear rise - 17"
Inside leg - 6"
Outside leg - 17"
Cuff - 14"

The shorts are in good condition as can be seen in the pictures. There are some signs of wear and use but overall they display nicely and look to be very wearable. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a pre-worn vintage item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

A nice original pair of Khaki Drill shorts with RAF provenance.
