An original World War Two era Royal Air Force Officers four pocket khaki drill tunic in a large size 42" chest.
The tunic follows the same pattern the RAF started using in before the Second World War. It features two pleated chest pockets, two bellows pockets on the skirt, a cavalry cuff, a waist belt with brass buckle and a full set of brass Kings crown buttons which are held on with the correct original brass pins to the rear.
There are loops on each shoulder to fit rank epaulettes onto and belt loops at the waist although no belt is included with this jacket.
The tunic has no stamps are labels as is common with khaki drill clothing but is consistent with wartime manufactured examples. The only markings inside are hand applied ink markings which read 'Nick RAF Mess 42' the number 42 corresponding to the chest size.
The jacket is a generous 42" chest making it ideal for re-enactment as well as display.
The jacket is in very good clean condition with no rips, tears or stains and doesn't appeared to have had much use at all.
Overall a nice original RAF Officers tunic in a good wearable large size, the kind of which are becoming very hard to find today - especially in such good condition!
