A good original pair of RAF Ordinary Airman's trousers made in 1946 which are identical to wartime pattern.
This pattern of trousers came into use with the RAF during the 1930s and stayed in service well into the 1950s. The trousers feature a fishtail back, a slash pocket to each hip and black plastic brace buttons around the outside of the trousers.
The original label is still present to the rear and is bright and legible. It bears the title 'Trousers O.A.' along with the size of 23 which is designed to fit a 34" waist. The manufacturer's name of 'B. Bloom Ltd' is present as is the 1946 date and the War Department broad arrow marking.
The trousers will suit someone of around a 33" waist and when laid flat measure -
Waist - 16 1/2"
Inside leg - 30 1/2"
The trousers are in good condition and are still very wearable. There is a stain to the left below the pocket and some other signs of age and wear. Overall they display well and are still very wearable but please take time to study the pictures before purchasing.
All in all a good pair of RAF OA trousers dating from just after the Second World War. They would fill a gap in a collection or could be used for re-enactment.
