An original 1945 dated RAF Ordinary Airman’s four pocket tunic complete with its original insignia.
This original tunic was the standard pattern worn by all men in the RAF under the rank of sergeant throughout the Second World War. It features a complete set of original brass Kings crown buttons but is sadly missing its waist belt. It also has a matched pair of wartime printed eagle badges to the top of each sleeve.
Inside the jacket the original label is still present and bares the 1945 date and War Department broad arrow marking. Above this is the manufacture name 'B. Bloom Ltd. The jacket is labelled as a large size 14 which will fit up to a 40" chest, 36" waist and 6' tall.
There is also a faint War Department ink stamp to the lining which is surmounted by the letter 'Z' which is the correct letter code for 1945.
The overall condition of the tunic is good but there are some areas of moth damage which I have included photographs of. This damage could easily be repaired and has been reflected in the price.
All in all a nice original wartime tunic in a large harder to find size.
