An original 1945 dated 'Shirts Bush Cellular RAF N.P.' in a size 7 and featuring its original wartime applied insignia.
This original airtex bush jacket is typical of those worn throughout the Second World War in the Middle East, Far East and Italian campaigns amongst others. This example is particularly nice as it still retains its original wartime insignia consisting of printed tropical eagle badges to the top of each sleeve and original tropical Corporal chevrons below these.
Inside the jacket the original label is still present and is still bright and legible. The 1945 date is nice and clear as is the War Department broad arrow mark and the size, which in this case is 7. Going by the label the jacket will fit someone of a 36-38" chest and a 31-33" waist.
The overall condition of the tunic is good as can be seen in the pictures and it displays very well. The top button is missing although this is not to much of an issue as this style of jacket was never worn fastened at the collar. There is also no belt included with the jacket but again these were worn without a belt more often than not.
Altogether a very nice and very original bush jacket with all of its original insignia.
