An original pair of grey coloured melton wool 'flannel' trousers dating from the 1940s and in a small size.
These trousers came with a WW2 British Army officer's grouping and I assume that they also belonged to him. They are made from a grey coloured melton wool which is very soft and are cut in a typical 1940s manner with a high rise waist and wide leg which features a turnup to the hem. The fly fastens with plastic buttons and the front of the trousers features twin pleats as well as a ticket pocket at the waistband. Slash pockets are located to each hip and there is a single pocket to the rear.
The trousers are a small size which will suit a shorter person with a 30" waist. When laid flat they measures -
Waist - 15 1/4"
Rise - 12 1/2"
Rear rise -
Inside leg - 25" (can be leg down 4" if the cuff is removed)
Outside leg - 35"
Cuff - 9 1/2"
The trousers are in good condition for their age with some signs of wear and use. Please study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that they are a vintage, pre-owned item which may have small issues commensurate with age.
A nice original pair of 1940s trousers in a great fabric.
