Original 1941 Dated RAF Ordinary Airman's Tunic - Size 13

Code: 53618

SOLD

An original RAF Ordinary Airman’s four pocket tunic complete with its belt and dated 1941.

This original tunic was the standard pattern worn by all men in the RAF under the rank of sergeant throughout the Second World War. It features a complete set of original brass Kings crown buttons as well as a matching waist belt. Semi-embroidered eagle badges are fitted to the top of each sleeve and Leading Aircraft man adge are fitted below this. All the badges are original to the jacket.

Inside the jacket the original label is still present and is bright and legible. It bears the title 'Jacket Blue-Grey O.A.'  below which is 1941 contract number and date. The size is also marked as 13. The original owner has added his serial number to the interior of the jacket with ink stamps which reads 1880485.

The tunic is in fairly good condition for its age as can be seen in the pictures. It shows only limited signs of age and wear and has some moth holes - namely to the front breast pocket area and also to the back of the left shoulder. Please take time to study the pictures before purchasing and bear in mind that this is a vintage, pre-worn item which may have small issues commensurate with age.

Overall a nice clean RAF jacket complete with its original waist belt and a nice clear, early war date. Ideal for both the collector and re-enactor!
