Original 1940s Royal Air Force Officer's Khaki Drill Tunic

Original 1940s Royal Air Force Officer's Khaki Drill Tunic

Code: 53957

SOLD

An original World War Two era Royal Air Force Officers four pocket khaki drill tunic in good condition.

The tunic follows the same pattern the RAF started using before the Second World War. It features two pleated chest pockets which have RAF style scalloped pocket flaps, two bellows pockets to the skirt and a pointed cuff. The jacket is fitted with a set of brass Kings crown RAF buttons and there are loops on each shoulder to fit rank epaulettes to. The jacket comes complete with its matching waist belt which is fitted with a brass two pronged buckle. The tunic has no stamps or labels as is common with khaki drill clothing but the construction is typical of wartime Khaki Drill as is the cut.

The tunic is a long size which will suit around a 38" chest. When laid flat the tunic measures -

Chest - 21"
Inside arm - 19 1/2"
Outside arm - 27 1/4"
Length - 32 1/2"
Shoulders - 17 1/2"

The tunic is in good condition with signs of age and wear. It is still very wearable but has some staining and other signs of wear. Please study the pictures and bear in mind that this is a pre-worn, vintage military tunic with wear commensurate with this.

A nice original WW2 period RAF tunic which would suit a re-enactor or collector well.
