An original British made raw silk scarf dating from the 1940s and in good condition.
This style of scarf was intended to be worn with evening wear and formal attire but saw many other uses. They were highly popular with both British and American aviators during the Second World War and can be seen in many period photographs.
This example is typical of the period being made from a yellow coloured raw silk material and features an abstract moorish print as was often used for scarfs in this period.
The scarf is in good condition with only limited signs of wear and age. It displays well but is a pre-owned vintage item so may have small flaws commensurate with age.
This would make a good addition to an RAF or USAAF uniform or mannequin.
