An original Royal Air Force Officer's Service Dress Tunic dating from around the time of the Second World War
This tunic is the pattern introduced in the inter-war period and used up until just after the end of WW2. It features a full set of brass Kings crown RAF buttons, retains its original waist belt and brass buckle and bears Flight Lieutenant rank to the sleeve which is undoubtedly original to the jacket and has aged beautifully.
Inside the jacket there are no labels. The jacket is fully lined and features an interior pocket.
The tunic will suit around a 37" - 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat the tunic measures -
Chest - 20 3/4"
Waist - 16 1/2"
Inside arm - 19"
Outside arm - 26"
Length - 31"
The condition of the tunic is reasonable for its age but it does have some flaws. There are various moth nips which are detailed in the pictures. This is reflected in the price.
An original wartime period jacket which could suit a collector or re-enactor well.
