SOLD

A hard to find original pair of 1940s RAF officer's service dress trousers in good condition.

This pattern of trousers was worn with the matching service dress tunic throughout the 1940s. They are made from the regulation RAF blue - grey coloured barathea wool and are cut in a typical 1940s style with a high rise waist and wide leg. The trousers feature straight slash pockets and a twin pleated front as well as a button fly. More buttons are fitted around the waist to which braces can be attached.

Inside the trousers the original maker's label is present and bears the name of 'Gieves' who were a well respected military maker for many years. The graphics on the label aer correct for the WW2 period which, along with the various other details, confirms these as 1940s trousers.

The trousers will suit a 34" waist and when laid flat they measure -

Waist - 17"
Rise - 14 1/2"
Rear rise - 19"
Inside leg - 30"
Outside leg - 43"
Cuff - 9 1/2"

The trousers are in good condition and display well. They look to be very wearable and have no serious flaws or signs of undue wear. There is a small hole to the front which is illustrated in picture 4 but this does not overly detract. Please take time to study the pictures and bear in mind that these are a vintage, pre-owned pair of trousers which may have small issues commensurate with age.

Original wartime period officer's trousers are very hard to find today and these could be paired with a jacket from the same period to complete a set.
