SOLD

An original 1940s men's scarf made by the famous 'Tootal' brand.

Tootal were one of the most prolific manufacturer's of neckwear in Great Britain during the mid Century period. The label has become very collectable in recent years and it is always considered to be a mark of a good quality scarf or tie.

This style of scarf was highly popular with both British and American aviators during the Second World War and can be seen in many period photographs. They were also worn by civilians and for motorsports amongst other pursuits.

This example is typical of the period being made from a yellow coloured wool rayon mix and features an abstract moorish print as was often used for scarfs in this period. Green tassels are fitted to each end which are again typical of the period.

The original label is still present and bears the maker's name of 'Tootal'.

The scarf is in good condition with only limited signs of wear and age. It displays well but is a pre-owned vintage item so may have small flaws commensurate with age.

This would make a good addition to an RAF or USAAF uniform or mannequin.
