A well worn example of RAF War Service Dress trousers dated 1944.
These trousers were used by both aircrew and ground crew between 1943 and 1945 replacing the early 'Suits Aircrew' trousers.
This particular pair have a nice clear label and are marked as a size 4. Whilst this sounds like a small size they will fit up to a 31" waist and the leg has been let all the way down so will fit longer than is stated in the label.
The trousers feature the dressing pocket on the left hip and single rear pocket which is standard in WSD trousers.
The trousers are in salty condition and have clearly had a hard life. There are white marks to the front of he trousers and two tears along the bottom of each leg, about 1 1/2" above the hem. If these trousers were shortened back to their original length this would not be noticeable.
All together, a nice original pair of wartime dated trousers in well worn condition. These would look great on display or could be used by a reenactor who wants a pair of trousers that look like they have been lived in.
