A rare example of a 1940 dated RAF kit bag which appears to have been blancoed green at some point in its life.
The kit bag is clearly dated 1940 on the inside and also bares the Air Ministry AM marking surmounted by a kings crown.
The outside of the kit bag still retains the original owners service number and the blue band which all RAF kit bags should have is also visible through the coat of blanco. There is also a very smartly added RAF albatross painted on the outside of the bag.
Also still intact is the original draw string which is in good condition. These are usually broken or missing but this appears to be original to the bag.
A kit bag which has clearly had a long service life compete with a sort after 1940 date
