An outstanding example of the Fleet Air Arm pattern C-type flying helmet in a large size 4.
This is the second pattern FAA C-type with the elastic chin strap which came into service in 1943.
The helmet features zipped ears as used on the b-type flying helmet. The brass zips are in perfect working order and both retain their original leather pullers which are often missing.
All the pop studs are intact and work. They all retain their original brown paint, only one having some of it chipped away and missing. This really reflects the superb condition of the helmet.
The chamois liner is good with only very limited signs of wear and the ear donuts are good too.
There are no plastic receiver cups inside the ears. They have either been removed or were never fitted but it doesn't detract from the way the helmet displays.
A rare opportunity to acquire a rare pattern of wartime helmet in the biggest size possible in A1 condition!
