Original 1943 Dated British Army 1937 Pattern Cross Straps - Size L

Code: 55621

SOLD

An original matched pair of British Army 1937 pattern webbing crossing straps dated 1943.

These straps are the first pattern to be used during the Second World War. Introduced in 1938 and notable by their single piece construction, rather than later economy three piece versions. The straps are maker marked 'MECo' which denotes Mill Equipment Company as the maker. They also feature the 1943 date, War Department broad arrow marking and the length of 'Long'.

The straps are in good condition and very fresh on the whole. They have been blancoed a light shade which appears to be 103.

A nice original matched set which could suit a collector or reenactor well.
