An extremely scarce pair of early British Army Mountaineers gloves as issued with the mountaineers padded coat.
The outer shell of the gloves is made from denim whilst the inside is liner with what appears to be alpaca or similar. The cuffs of the gloves are wool and feature an interesting fleck pattern. There is a re-enforced section around the thumb which is designed to reduce wear in an area which would be in contact with ropes more than others.
The condition of the gloves is fantastic and they don't appear to have had an real use. They may well be un-issued.
All in all a very rare pair of early special forces gloves which are a must have for anyone who collects in this field!
