Rare Original WW2 Khaki Drill ATS Working Blouse

Rare Original WW2 Khaki Drill ATS Working Blouse

Code: 10608

SOLD

A scarce original Auxiliary Territorial Service Working Dress Blouse in very good condition.

This patten of blouse was worn throughout the war underneath the battledress uniform as well as in tropical climates. It is made from cellular cotton, or 'Aertex' as it is often referred to, and features green rubber buttons which are in excellent, pliable condition. The shirt has a three button opening and long sleeves which fasten with the same rubber buttons as the front.

Inside the shirt the original owners name is present and reads 'Bennett'. There are some other markings, although they are not particularly legible.

When laid flat the shirt measures -

Chest - 19"
Inside arm - 18
Outside arm - 19 1/2"
Length - 23"
Collar - 13 1/2"
Shoulders - 15 1/2"

The shirt is in good condition and doesn't show any signs of undue wear or use. There are a few stains but overall it displays very well and is still very wearable.

A rare original women's military shirt in good condition which would be ideal for a collector or could suit a re-enactor.
