An original Royal Marines pattern greatcoat dating from the Second World War and in good condition.
This pattern of greatcoat was worn throughout the Second World War by men serving with the Royal Marines. It is noticabl different to its army counterpart having an eight button front fastenig, straight flapped pockets to the hips and a french cuff. The coat comes complete with a full set of King's crown brass Royal Marines buttons.
Inside the coat retains its original label which reads 59 36 which relates to chest size and height. The original owner has marked his name in ink which reads 'R. Allen' and may be traceable. There is also the standard issue date stamp although it is sadly no longer legible.
The coat is in very good condition as can be seen in the pictures. It has been issued but does not show any signs of undue wear or use. It is a vintage item however so may have small issues commensurate with age.
A very nice exampe of this pattern of greatcoat which would make a great addition to any collection!
