Original WW2 Indian Made British Army Khaki Drill Trousers

Original WW2 Indian Made British Army Khaki Drill Trousers

Code: 52532

SOLD

An original pair of Indian made British Khaki Drill Trousers dating from the Second World War and in good condition.

The trousers are typical of wartime period British military trousers featuring a high-rise waist, wide leg, slash hip pockets and no rear pocket. They have a button fly, a tabbed waist fastening and belt loops are found positioned around the waist. There are a mixture of buttons on the trousers with the fly retaining a number of Indian pattern stamped zinc buttons as are often found on KD and JG trousers from this period. The exterior features tortoiseshell coloured buttons, some of which are period replacements.

Being of private purchase origin there are no labels or markings. The stitching and the material are typical of the Indian made items as are the buttons. The material used for the pocket bags is slightly different to that usually found and there are no markings. None of this is particularly surprising as there are always new quirks to be found when studying Khaki Drill!

The trouser will suit someone of around a 30" waist and when laid flat the trousers measure -

Waist - 14 1/2"
Rise - 14 1/2"
Rear rise - 19"
Inside leg - 32"
Outside leg - 45"
Cuff - 11"

The trousers are in very good condition with signs of use or wear and use. There is some staining and a few repairs as can be seen in the pictures but overall they display very well. Please bear in mind that these are a vintage pair of pre worn trousers and may have small issues commensurate with age.

All in all a nice pair of original theatre made KD trousers which would be ideal for a collector or re-enactor or for someone who wants to wear original clothing.
