An original World War Two period British Army Officers Shirt made by ‘Alkit’ in a good size and fantastic condition.
This shirt is typical of those worn by British Officers During ww2. It is made from a light green poplin which was popular as it was light and comfortable to wear. It features a full button front and the spearpoint shaped collar which was the most prevalent shape during the 1940s.
Inside the collar of the shirt the original label is still present and reads ‘Alkit’ who were one of the most prevelant manufactures of officers kit for many years. The neckband of the collar is stamped 15 1/2 denoting the size.
The shirt measures at a 44” chest so should be a good fit on a 40” or 42” chest.
The condition of the shirt is very good indeed as can be seen in the photographs. The shirt may not have been issued as it shows no real signs of wear or use that I can see.
Altogether a very nice original period officers shirt which would compliment any collection or be a good item for re-enactment due to its size.
