An original pair of British Khaki Drill Trousers dating from the Second World War.
These trousers came with the RAF tunic listed above are both named to '1008621 Walkden F' and have clearly always been together. Whilst there is no date on the trousers they are almost certainly a wartime issue pair with all the usual trade marks of this.
Made from the usual khaki coloured cotton drill, these trousers have been heavily tailored. A waistband has been added in the cross belt style which was popular with the RAF during the war. They have also had the wedges added to the bottom of the leg which was a short lived trend that was popular in 1945. Why I have never worked out however! None-the-less it makes for a cracking original feature.
To the rear of the trousers bares a clear ghosting of where an issue label was original affixed and suggests that these are British made rather than the more common Indian made examples often seen on the market.
The trousers are a smaller size and will fit around a 28" waist depending on desired fit. When laid flat the trousers measure -
Waist - 14 3/4"
Inside Leg - 29"
Rise - 13 1/2"
Rear rise - 16"
The trousers are in reasonable condition for their age with the usual signs of age and wear. Please study the pictures as these form part of the description.
All in all a nice original pair of wartime period KD trousers with some really interesting period modifications.
