An original British Army Officer's collar shirt dating from the Second World War.
This shirt is typical of those worn by officers during WW2. It is made from a lightweight, khaki green coloured wool and features a half-placket front as was common in the period before and during the war. It features an attached collar - a design which was popular compared to the detachable collar shirts as they were easier to wear. A patch pocket is located to the chest and epaulettes can be found to each shoulder and are removable. The shirt is clearly a private purchase example.
The shirt will fit around a 38" chest depending on desired fit and when laid flat it measures -
Chest - 22 1/2"
Inside arm - 21 1/2"
Outside arm - 25"
Length at front - 29 1/2"
Length at back - 33"
Collar - 15"
Shoulders - 17 1/4"
The shirt is in reasonable condition for its age and displays well. There are two holes to the sleeve and another to the shoulder as is detailed in the pictures. Please take time to study them and bear in mind that this is a vintage item with small issues commensurate with age.
A nice original WW2 period officers shirt with some great details.
